Registration Frequently Asked Questions

  1. When does returning student registration open?
    1. The window opens April 14th and closes on May 23rd.
  2. Where do I go to register my student?
    1. visit ossdms.org/enrollment/
  3. How do I know my registration has been completed/accepted/received? How will I be contacted regarding my registration status?
    1. We will begin processing registration this summer. You will receive an email when your registration has been approved. You can also check Parent Portal for registration status. 
  4. I can’t remember my login information, how do I retrieve it?
    1. Returning Students: log in to Parent Portal and click on the registration info link.
    2. New Students/Kindergarten Registration: Visit the New Student Enrollment page on our website by clicking here. Follow the steps listed on the page to begin.
  5. My login information does not work, how do I fix this?
    1. Returning Students:
      1. Please contact your student’s school for assistance. (SDS) 
  6. Can I register my student in person?
    1. No, registration is 100% online.
  7. What documents do I need to register?
    1. Returning Students:
      1. Two proofs of residency. You may consult the list of required documents here. 
      2. Incoming 7th grade students will need an updated Form 121 from the MS Health Department with a record of TDAP Vaccination. 
    2. New Students/Kindergarten: 
      1. Please review the list of required documents here. Please note that these are required by the State of Mississippi.
  8. What immunizations are required in order to register my student?
    1. Kindergarten: MSDH requires incoming kindergarteners to have received the DTaP, IPV, Hep B, and MMRV vaccines prior to the start of school.
    2. 7th Grade: MSDH requires incoming 7th grade students to have received  the Tdap vaccine prior to the start of school.
  9. Where do I need to submit my required documents?
    1. For returning students, new students, and kindergarten registration, you should submit your required documents to the Registration Gateway under the Proof of Residency “Browse” button on the screen. 
  10. Can I submit registration on my phone?
    1. Yes, you can complete registration on your phone, similar to how you would complete it on the computer.
  11. I need an affidavit, when do I do that?
    1. Affidavit Registration will be conducted during in-person registration this summer. Please check your email for further updates.
  12. When is new student registration?
    1. New student registration opens May 1st, and closes June 27th.
  13. When is Kindergarten Registration?
    1. Kindergarten Registration for online follows the same window as new students (May 1st - June 27th).
  14. Will we get to tour campus?
    1. Not at the moment. However, OSSD will be announcing dates for open house in the fall.
  15. When is meet the teacher/orientation?
    1. These dates and times will be announced as they become available.
  16. Where can I access medical forms, supply lists, bus information, etc.?
    1. Please visit our website for all of this information and more at ossdms.org.
