OSSD to Close School Monday (8/30) for Hurricane Ida

OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss (OSSD) -- Due to the imminent threat of severe weather from Hurricane Ida, the Ocean Springs School District has deemed it necessary to close school on Monday, August 30th, 2021. We will make this day up on Thursday, October 7th, 2021, our predetermined weather make up day.
All district facilities will close beginning Saturday, August 28th, and will remain secured until we reopen on Tuesday. As a result, all extracurricular activities will also be canceled and employees will not have access to campus buildings until Tuesday morning, August 31st.
Our Saturday vaccination event at OSMS with Singing River Health System and Rotary Club of Ocean Springs will continue as planned for 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
We hope all of our Greyhounds remain safe and sound as Ida prepares to make landfall. As of now, OSSD is preparing to resume operations on a normal schedule on Tuesday, August 31st, 2021.
