OSSD Names Melissa Arnold Assistant Superintendent

OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss (OSSD) -- The Ocean Springs School District Board of Trustees voted on Tuesday night to approve the recommendation of Melissa Wojcik Arnold as the next Assistant Superintendent of OSSD on July 1.
Wojcik will take her new role in OSSD after serving as Principal of Ocean Springs Middle School for four years. Prior to leading OSMS, she held several roles in her nine years of service to Ocean Springs High School, including Testing/MTSS Coordinator and Assistant Principal. Before joining OSSD in 2014, Wojcik worked for George County School District for five years as a Special Education Teacher and Positive Behavior Specialist.
Wojcik, named OSSD’s Administrator of the Year in 2021, brings with her more than 10 years of administrative experience in OSSD. She holds a Specialist in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University, and an M.S. in Organizational and Behavioral Leadership from Regions University.
In her new role, Wojcik will oversee OSSD’s curriculum and instruction initiatives, as well as the overall academic performance of the district. She replaces Justin Sutton, who was named OSSD’s next Superintendent of Schools last month.
