OSSD NAMES JUSTIN SUTTON NEXT ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT
OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss (OSSD) -- The Ocean Springs School District Board of Trustees voted on Tuesday night to approve the recommendation of Mr. Justin Sutton to become OSSD’s Assistant Superintendent on July 1.
Sutton rejoins OSSD after spending the last four years as Principal of Long Beach High School, leading LBHS to becoming the #3 ranked high school in the state and a graduation rate of 97 percent. Prior to taking the helm at LBHS, Sutton served in various roles at Ocean Springs High School, including IB Coordinator and later as Assistant Principal for nine years.
Sutton holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and a Master of Arts in Teaching from the Mississippi University for Women, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Mississippi State University.
In his new role, Sutton will oversee OSSD’s curriculum and instruction initiatives, as well as the overall academic performance of the district. He replaces Dr. Christopher Williams, Sr., who is departing OSSD to become Superintendent of Moss Point School District. Outside of his educational career, Sutton is the husband of an educator, and has two sons.
