OSSD Community Mourns the Loss of Nolan Wells

OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss (OSSD) -- The entire Greyhound community is shocked and heartbroken by the tragic loss of OSHS graduate, Nolan Wells.

 

Nolan, a 2025 graduate of Ocean Springs High School, was a multi-sport athlete while attending OSHS, and later played football at Southwest Mississippi Community College. Nolan was known for his kindness, genuine personality, and a smile that could light up a room. On the football field, he impressed his teammates and coaches with his work ethic and leadership.

 

“We are devastated by Nolan’s passing. He was the kind of son, teammate, friend, and student that every coach hopes to have in a program,” said Jake Bramlett, Ocean Springs Head Football Coach.

 

“Nolan was so much more than an outstanding football player. He carried himself with humility, treated others with respect, worked hard, and led by example. His character spoke louder than his accomplishments, and he was loved deeply by his teammates and coaches. Our football family is grieving alongside Nolan’s parents, family, friends, classmates, teammates, and all who loved him.”

 

Nolan not only turned heads as a talented multi-sport athlete, but also as a leader in the classroom.

 

“Nolan was a remarkable student, teammate, and brother,” said Dr. Jacob Dykes, OSHS Principal. “He will be remembered as an extremely kind and hardworking young man who left a lasting impression on his teachers, coaches, teammates, and community. Our thoughts are with his family and the many people he made a lasting impact on around him.”

 

OSSD extends its deepest condolences to Nolan’s entire family, teammates and coaches, and all of those who were close to him during this difficult time. OSSD asks that the community provide support and privacy to Nolan’s family as they grieve an unimaginable loss.
