OSSD Cancels School for Wednesday

SEPTEMBER 10, 2024 - 12:00 P.M.
OSSD CANCELS SCHOOL FOR WEDNESDAY AHEAD OF TROPICAL STORM FRANCINE
OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss (OSSD) -- Due to the expected impact of Tropical Storm Francine in our area, OSSD has deemed it necessary to cancel school on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, for the safety of our students, staff, and their families. After-school activities scheduled for this afternoon will not be impacted by this change.
District officials will remain in direct communication with local authorities, including Jackson County Emergency Management. We will continue to evaluate weather conditions and will make a decision regarding Thursday’s schedule on Wednesday evening. As of this message, OSSD intends to return to normal schedule on Thursday. If district administrators feel it is necessary to alter the school day for student safety, you will be notified immediately.
