Bond Construction Update: December 2025

WHAT’S HAPPENING NOW:
- Masonry crews are working to install CMU cinderblock walls, and interior wall installation is expected to be completed within the next two weeks.
- Steel for the roof is scheduled to arrive in the same timeframe, and installation will begin when we return in January. We’re excited to see the building take shape—see the photos below for the latest progress!

Pecan Park Elementary
- The contractor has started pouring concrete for the footings and forming the block boundary around the foundation.
- Plumbers will begin installing plumbing and electrical conduit over the next couple of weeks, and the site will be ready for the pouring of the slab by the time we return in January.
- Once the foundation is complete, crews will begin installing the CMU brick walls.

Both projects remain on schedule, and we’re encouraged by the steady progress at each site as these new additions take shape for our students and staff.
District leadership met with parents whose children will be affected by the new elementary boundary lines and shared the new interactive map with the community. We also provided time for feedback and questions. The OSSD Board of Trustees approved the updated boundary zones at the December meeting.
The district is committed to honoring these new boundaries; however, we will consider parent requests for students to remain at their current school. While all requests will be reviewed, our plan is to follow the established zones unless there is an extenuating circumstance. These changes will take effect for the 2026–2027 school year. You can learn more about the new attendance zones here.
WHAT’S COMING NEXT:
