Overview
OSSD has proposed a no-tax-increase bond referendum totaling $52 million. The bond aims to address critical repairs and improvements to our schools, ensuring a safe and enhanced learning environment for all students and staff.
This bond proposal will not raise the current tax rate.
Highlights
- Restructure elementary schools to K-4.
- Construction of a state-of-the-art middle school on our current upper elementary campus.
- Make critical infrastructure upgrades to all three elementary schools and the current middle school campus.
- Renovate the current middle school campus to convert it into a 5th and 6th grade school.
OSSD Bond Referendum Passes with 87 Percent Approval

OSSD Families & Community,
I am beyond thrilled to share that the 2025 school bond initiative passed with 87 percent of the vote! We are incredibly thankful to the voters of OSSD for their support of our students and staff by helping provide necessary improvements to our facilities and state-of-the-art learning environments for years to come.
While our students, parents, and staff will certainly benefit from the passing of this bond, our community will also see the benefits of this plan. This bond is not only an investment in our district infrastructure and buildings, but also an investment in our students and the future of our community. Strong and successful schools remain a key economic driver to local communities and while new facilities do not guarantee academic gains, they certainly allow our students and staff to perform at their highest level of learning.
Work will begin immediately on moving forward with executing the proposed bond projects. We will now begin detailed planning and coordination with our architect, followed by construction. Our staff and community will remain involved throughout the bond process, and we will provide updates to our community, including progress updates and tentative project timelines. The bond page on our website will remain a hub of information throughout the bond process.
