Greyhound Exploration Day
OSSD is excited to bring back Greyhound Exploration Day for the 2026-2027 school year! The goal of this transition day (Wednesday, July 29, 2026) is to provide our kindergarten, 7th grade, and 9th grade with an optional additional school day to familiarize themselves with their new campus and schedule. All schools will operate on a 60% day schedule. Attendance for Greyhound Exploration Day is optional but strongly encouraged.
Only students in grades kindergarten, 7th grade, and 9th grade will attend school on this day, allowing for more personalized programming to help familiarize students and their families with their new campus and class schedule. All other students will start school on Thursday, July 30, 2026.
Our purpose will be to ensure a smooth transition to, and from, each school in OSSD. The programming and support planned will help our Greyhounds to be more confident in their new school environments, develop better connections with others, and ensure the needed as students progress through our system.
