|School and Community Relations
The two goals of the Community and School Relations Office are: to strengthen the "home-school connection" and build support for the public schools. The methods of achieving those goals are evaluated continuously. The Office provides information to staff, parents, residents, potential residents, the business community and other key constituencies about district programs, initiatives and accomplishments.
Through communication with the public and creating partnerships and alliances with business, industry, and other institutions, we are expanding and enhancing the role of the public schools in the community.
We communicate information through a variety of methods, including the Ocean Springs School District website; publication of newsletters and flyers that are distributed to parents via Tuesday folder, email, media releases, advertisements, announcements (Community Events) and feature stories in local newspapers, school and district brochures.
