Our department is committed to the success of each student, spearheading programs to complement the learning that takes place in the classroom and enhance the overall educational experience. Working in partnership with others we advocate for and provide leadership to cultivate our students' educational success and personal development, offering services to assist parents, students, and schools with meeting their guidance, social and health needs. through the programs we offer, we help to ensure that our students have a strong foundation to stand on as they strive to reach their utmost academic potential.
We also work to implement federal and state statutes such as those establishing IDEA, Section 504, Gifted, Counselors, Nurses;assist in the prevention and intervention programs such as Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS); and provide services to foster a safe, bullying -free, and drug free school environment. The department supervises the identification of students for Special Education, Intellectually Gifted and Section 504 services while striving to meet the individual needs of students found eligible through appropriate programming and provision of related services, assuring tht the programs and services meet state and federal requirement.

Education Scholarship Account
Education Scholarship Account The ESA program provides an opportunity for parents of children with disabilities who wish to withdraw their child from the public school system to use scholarship money to help defray the cost of private school tuition or other specific allowable activities to educate their child. The ESA program was created by the Equal Opportunity for Students with Special Needs Miss. Code Ann. §§ 37-181-1 et. seq. The program is being administered by the Mississippi Department of Education, Office of Special Education.
