Boys/Girls Golf teams operate during the spring semester and account for about 25 Greyhounds 7th-12th grade. Practice is held 5 days a week at Shell Landing with a few days at the Preserve. Golf practices consist of range work (working with the kids on their swings/help with chipping and putting). Assistance is also given by P.G.A. professional Kenny Hughes as well. 9-18 holes are played with players in multiple capacities. Our team qualifies for tournaments by having multiple days of matches involving many kids, course management lessons(how to play and the rules of the game). Boys and Girls play in a myriad of tournaments along the coast from March thru April and then begin to qualify for STATE via District tournies. In the past 5 years OS has fielded fairly competitive teams and usually head to STATE as a team. Our Booster club supports our team in multiple ways and has helped provide range finders and team shoes in the past few years. Golf is a year around sport and while the season only lasts a few months in the spring, we strive to keep the players in competition and on the course during the summer and fall.
