Title IX Equal Education Opportunity Act

Ocean Springs School District does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, or disability in the provision of educational programs and services or employment opportunities and benefits. 

 

It is the intent of the OSSD to ensure that students will not be excluded from participating on, in, or denied benefits of, or be subject to discrimination, based on sex, in any course or school activity, as put forth under Title IX of the Education on Amendments of 1972.  Due process rights of students and their parents will be enforced as set forth in Title IX.  

 

Every pupil of the OSSD will have equal educational opportunities regardless of race, color, creed, sex, handicap, religion, or marital status.  No student shall be excluded on such basis from participating in or having access to any course offerings, athletics, counseling, employment assistance, and extra curricular activities.
