Operations Department

The Operations Department is responsible for the care and upkeep of all OSSD buildings and facilities, the safety of faculty and students and the transportation department. The maintenance section is responsible for the care and upkeep of 8 school buildings, the Central Office, Greyhound Stadium and its own Operations building. The safety section is tasked with administering facility usage and field trip approvals.  Included in the section is the Ocean Springs School District Police Department comprised of six officers that deal directly with the student population to promote good citizenship and foster a safe educational environment.The transportation section is responsible for the care and maintenance of 70 district owned vehicles.   This section employs 47 full time drivers and transports 6,200 students per day; while traveling over 598,000
