At OSMS, we teach more than academics… we teach the whole child! Helping children understand the importance of giving to others teaches them deep awareness of the role of each individual in a building community. Therefore, we participate in many community service projects to teach the children the importance of giving to others. The Renaissance Club is participating in Blankets For A Cure and is in need of donated fleece to be used to make blankets for cancer patients in our community. In order to do this important community project, we are requesting donations of fleece fabric in any color and/or pattern… not just pink. The possibilities are endless. Each blanket will need 2 pieces of fleece that are a yard and half each. What a great learning opportunity to share with your child when you shop together for “the perfect fleece”. We will be accepting donations up to Friday, October 20th. Please deliver your fleece to the Media Center. Thank you for helping us spread joy to our local community members fighting this disease. Our hope is that one day… ALL cancers will be curable!
